Mars Rover Dog - Camp Planning Meeting #2

The team

The robotics team met again to continue organizing for the upcoming four-day Mars Rover Dog Camp. After planning for materials in our last meeting, we used this session to focus on finalizing the curriculum, logistics, and schedule.

We started by drafting the schedule and finalized the full timeline for each day, including lessons, breaks, and testing time for racing the Robot Dogs. After locking in the schedule, we reviewed the daily curriculum, adjusted the flow of topics and confirmed what will be taught throughout the week.

Next, we reviewed the rest of the materials needed for the event, from teaching supplies, to tools needed to build the Mars environment. We took another look at the terrain materials and continued to finalize the design. There were a few challenges in how the terrain course would look realistic using 3D-printed components and molded clay, but in the end the team worked through the issues and found solutions to ensure the environment was as realistic as possible.

The team also discussed potential issues, such as students needing to bring food and laptops from home. We talked about how to communicate reminders and set up clear rules to keep things organized and run smoothly.

Finally, we confirmed the content of the introduction presentation. One of the team members was tasked with developing the first draft of the slide deck for everyone to review and finalize at the next meeting. With the schedule, curriculum, and presentation almost complete, we are getting closer to being fully prepared for the Mars Rover Dog Camp. Our next meeting will focus on reviewing the slides and building the Mars terrain.
