Our First Monthly Meeting of 2025–2026
On October 5th, we kicked off our very first monthly meeting of the 2025–2026 school year! The room was buzzing with excitement — filled with students and parents of all ages. Some were seniors getting ready to graduate, while others were brand-new members just starting their journey with us. Our youngest participant was still in elementary school! Everyone came eager and curious, ready to dive into a brand-new year of learning and growth.
During the meeting, we introduced our student-led Committees, each with its own mission and character:
Data Science & AI Committee - exploring the power of data and using technology to solve real-world problems.
Robotics Outreach Committee - inspiring more people to discover the fun and creativity of robotics.
Public Art Committee — bringing art and imagination into our communities.
History & Culture Committee - uncovering fascinating stories and celebrating cultural diversity.
Sustainability Committee - turning environmental awareness into meaningful action.
Emergency Response Committee - learning how to stay prepared and protect our communities.
Each committee is designed and led by students themselves, offering a wide variety of opportunities across science, art, culture, and community engagement. We also shared information about the Congressional Award, including its requirements and how our programs will help students work toward earning it through volunteering and leadership activities throughout the year.
One of the highlights of the meeting was our ice-breaking session. Every student went up to introduce themselves — some were funny, some sincere, and some unexpectedly witty! Whether it was their first time or they were long-time members, everyone relaxed, laughed, and got to know each other in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
This wasn’t just a meeting — it felt like a joyful reunion of a big, talented family. Seeing so many bright, passionate, and brave young people gives us so much hope for the year ahead. We can’t wait for each monthly gathering to become a space of growth, sharing, and inspiration — where every student finds their voice, their purpose, and their place to shine.
Here’s to an amazing new school year — filled with curiosity, creativity, and connection!
