Ed Levin Park Mural Inperson Survey
CP mentorship youth members along with muralist Simon Bai at Ed Levin Park.
CP Mentorship members visited Ed Levin Park on May 4, to engage with the community and gather input for the upcoming summer mural project. Surveys were conducted with park visitors to better understand their perspectives on the area. Park rangers also provided valuable insight into the park’s history and environment. We look forward to doing more research on the park’s common plants and animals, along with the loved activities of the park.

This mural project at Ed R. Levin Park is part of a broader community initiative to enhance public spaces through art, education, and collaboration. The mural will be painted on the exterior of the park’s restroom facility, serving both a beautification purpose and a practical one: to deter graffiti and promote a sense of shared stewardship.
The design will highlight the natural beauty of the park, featuring local wildlife and native plant species. In doing so, the mural will not only enrich the visual landscape but also help educate visitors about what they may encounter during their time in the park. From birds and butterflies to regional trees and wildflowers, the imagery will serve as a guide to the park’s ecosystem.
Before we begin painting, we are conducting a community survey to gather ideas and feedback. This ensures that the mural reflects the voices and values of those who use and care for the park.
Young artists and participants can also join the mural camp, which offers a hands-on learning experience. Through guided workshops, participants will explore the basics of mural design, public art techniques, and environmental education. It’s an opportunity to build artistic skills, work collaboratively, and contribute to a lasting piece of community art—all while deepening their connection to nature.
