Students Raise $435 Through Duck Fundraiser

Students in the Youth Committee recently completed a unique fundraising effort by raising and selling ducklings as part of their project work.

The fundraiser was originally planned to support their datathon event, with a goal of raising between $500 and $1000 . While they did not fully reach the target, the team successfully raised $435, showing strong effort and commitment.

How the Project Started

The project began with the use of an egg incubator, which was started on April 4. The team planned for the ducklings to hatch around early May .

In addition, more ducks were expected to come from a team member’s home, with an estimated total of 30 to 40 ducklings to sell .

More Than Just Fundraising

This project was not only about raising money. It also required planning, coordination, and responsibility.

Students had to think through:

  • how to care for the ducklings

  • how to organize selling and pickup

  • how to provide guidance to buyers

These steps helped turn a simple idea into a real-world experience.

What This Shows

Raising $435 through this project shows what students can do when they take initiative and follow through.

Even though the original goal was higher, the outcome reflects real effort, teamwork, and learning.

The duck fundraiser is one example of how students are building projects that go beyond ideas.

By working on hands-on efforts like this, they gain experience in planning, problem-solving, and creating real impact.

More projects like this are expected as students continue to explore new ways to learn and contribute.
